Our favorite activities

beFrom forest adventures and scenic bike rides to legendary markets, vineyard days and wild swims under big skies, this is how we love to experience our region. Here you’ll find our handpicked favourites—easy to reach from the house, deeply local, and always memorable.

ROC MASSEREAU

If you’re not afraid of heights and love climbing through the trees, Roc Massereau is unforgettable. Set in a pine forest beside the Vidourle River, it offers 15 courses and 45 zip lines - including a spectacular 200m+ ride that flies over the water. Don’t miss Course #10: you’ll feel like James Bond as you edge your way along an old bridge. Brilliant fun for the whole family.

Mobyliouc

Set off from Brouzet on a vintage mobylette and discover the region with a smile and the wind in your hair. These guided tours take you along quiet country roads, through vineyards and sleepy villages, revealing hidden corners you’d never find otherwise. A wonderfully nostalgic, playful way to experience the South—slow, scenic, and unforgettable.

Cigale Aventure

A wonderful team to discover the Cévennes in its most exhilarating, wild beauty. Whether you’re drawn to the rush of canyoning or prefer to roam at your own pace with a mountain bike or e-bike, they’ll tailor the day to you with warmth and true professionalism. Expect great local knowledge, smooth organization, and that happy feeling of having explored somewhere real.

Hiking

We are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by beautiful hiking trails, many of which begin right at our doorstep. Simply follow the yellow waymarks and you’ll soon find yourself immersed in the quiet landscapes of the Cévennes foothills. For the best overview of all local routes, we recommend picking up the Piémont Cévenol hiking map (€5) at the tourist offices in Sauve.

Montpellier Wine Tours

A favourite with many of our guests - and always a highlight. Choose from several thoughtfully curated routes through local vineyards and appellations, with tastings that feel both relaxed and special. Even better: you can often arrange to be picked up directly at the house, so you can simply enjoy the day, glass by glass.

L’Espiguette Beach

L’Espiguette is for the highly civilised who are - just for a day - happily done with civilisation. Worth every minute of the ~55-minute drive, this wild ribbon of sand unfurls for miles along the Camargue, backed by soaring dunes, quiet lagoons, and salty scrubland. Aside from the lighthouse, there’s almost nothing in sight - just sky, sea, and that rare feeling of space.

Open-air market

If you love food, there’s nothing quite like a French open-air market: sun-warmed fruit, just-picked vegetables, wonderful cheeses, and beautiful local fish and meats. Come to wander, taste, and let the season inspire your next meal - there’s a market nearby almost every day. Follow the link above to see what’s on, and where.

Biking & Mountainbiking

Our area is made for cycling—quiet roads, little traffic, and endless small lanes (and dirt tracks) winding through beautiful nature. An e-bike is perfect if you’re after the scenery and the joy of exploring rather than a full workout. Three official cycling routes pass right in front of the house, leading to wonderful nearby villages and viewpoints—especially the Voie Verte, a former railway line turned into a long, car-free bike path linking Quissac with Sauve, and further on toward Anduze and Calvisson. Miles and miles with not a car in sight—pure freedom.
